Health & Safety
  • Altitude Sickness (AMS): Gulmarg village is at 2,650m, with the gondola going much higher. Symptoms include headaches and nausea. Acclimatize by taking it easy for the first few days and consider medication like Acetazolamide.
  • Medical Facilities: Only a small primary health center exists in Gulmarg. Major injuries or illnesses require evacuation to Srinagar (52 km away) or, for severe cases, Delhi.
  • Medical Precautions: Those with heart conditions or respiratory issues should consult a doctor before traveling
